SMI Verify

Know more about your file.

Inspect its fingerprint, metadata and available Content Credentials.

Check a file without uploading it

Your browser works out the file’s SHA-256 and sends only that fingerprint to SMI’s public registry. The file stays on your device.

What each report inspects

SHA-256 fingerprint

Identifies this exact file, byte for byte. It does not prove who made it.

Embedded metadata

Reads EXIF and XMP where the file type carries them, and notes whether IPTC data is present.

Content Credentials

Validates C2PA when present, and says so when it can’t. Missing credentials are not proof of fraud.
